Donald Stellin is a Partner with Hightower Great Lakes. He develops financial plans, manages investment portfolios, and works collaboratively with clients to create retirement income plans. He enjoys helping individuals, families, and business owners plan for a comfortable retirement by carefully listening to their needs and goals prior to developing a customized financial plan.
Prior to Hightower, Don began his career with Merrill Lynch in Traverse City, Michigan as a financial advisor in 2000. He comes to Hightower from Stifel Nicolaus and UBS Financial Services. Having worked for several large brokerage firms, Don appreciates the independent, open-architecture, open-source structure of Hightower for serving the needs and goals of his clients.
Don holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. In addition to his responsibilities with Hightower Great Lakes, Don enjoys spending time with his family and their Chesapeake Bay Retriever, alpine skiing, and weight training. Don has served on several local non-profit boards of directors and has coached many seasons of various youth sports. Additionally, Don currently holds the following positions with U.S. Ski and Snowboard: Chairman of Region 3 of Central Division, Vice Chair of the Central Division, and Vice Chair of the Rocky/Central Region. Don also helps coach and officiate U.S. Ski and Snowboard racing as well as high school ski racing.
Don is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®). Administered by fi360, the professional designation is the industry's first and only designation that demonstrates knowledge and competency in fiduciary excellence. Holders of the AIF® mark have successfully completed a specialized program on investment fiduciary standards and subsequently passed a comprehensive examination.
Mr. Stellin holds Series 7 and 66 licenses as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses.
